This reservoir is heavily stocked with a large head of carp with the lake record going over the 36lb mark. The averagely sized carp being caught at the moment is 20lb plus. Other species are also in the lake such as tench over 8lb, rudd, perch, and roach.
The carp tend to move around a lot (probably because of the varying depths) so its essential to move onto the fish. The shallows can often produce a lot of fish throughout the warmer months.
This fishery is part of the Chelmsford angling association.
