Approximately 12 miles from Colchester, between White Colne and Pebmarsh, Prestons is a stream fed secluded 19 acre lake with large stocks of most species. Due to the water quality and conditions all species of fish stocked in this lake have grown and bred extremely well. There is a good stock of Carp to over 30lb and a few Pike up to 30lb. The lake also features big Tench, Bream and Hybrids and offers comfortable fishing from flat banks, which are suitable for disabled anglers.
Plenty of silver fish are present in vast number, bream, roach and perch bags are more common that catching a carp, and at times the odd carp angler has been known to fish for these.
The top end of the lake is designated Nature Reserve, and is strictly out of bounds to all members. Any member found fishing in this area will receive an automatic expulsion from the club.
The Carp stocks include a batch of Mark Symonds bred carp, these rapid growers are expected to reach 20lb+ quickly.
Prestons Lake is open all year round with no close season.
There are two toilets located in the car park, they are normally present all year and are regularly cleaned by a contracted company.
