Curleys Fishery

Wallsuches, Bolton, BL6 6PP, Lancashire, United Kingdom

Nestled amongst the hills of the Wet Pennine Moors, on the edge of the beautiful Rivington Country Park, lies one of the North's premier fly waters. This 200 year old reservoir is perfectly situated close to all the North's major motorways.
The main reservoir at Curley's is over 200 year old having been made to supply water to a mill in the valley below. During it's history it has been a coarse fishery but in the main it has been a redundant facility over many years. That is until the current owners Steve and Helen Kershaw bought the land and reservoir in 2002. The fishery started life as a coarse fishery until the winter of 2005 when it was drained and all the coarse species moved to another fishery. It took the winter of 2005 and into the Spring of 2006 to refill the reservoir so that it could be stocked with prime rainbow trout and become an important fly fishing venue for the North West
The main reservoir is a 6 acre fly only water and is stocked with hard fighting, fully finned, triploid Rainbows, Blues and Goldies up to 15lbs. A smaller 1 acre lake is any method, primarily for accompanied children and beginners to fly fishing.=============================DAILY BLOGS & REPORTS!http://www.curleysfishery.blogspot.co.uk/=============================
