Thorpe Vale Fisheries consist of two lakes (4 acres in total) which offer two different fly fishing experiences.
The top lake is open and offers good opportunity to fish dry fly in the surface wake. Fish are freely rising not large but very fit.
The second lake is sheltered by trees and offers a quieter retreat. Excellent for evening rises but you have to be good to catch! Small natural flies are the order of the day.
Finally, the venue is a very beautiful area abundant with wild-life. Facilities are basic to non-existent but who cares with a location like this!
Thorpe Vale Fisheries is a little jewel and provides good fishing. The lake at the back is a lot harder to catch, but there are bigger fish in it. Not easy to find, so look out for the painted fish sign just off the road.
Rainbow and Brown stocked weekly with fish averaging 1lb 4oz. Thorpe Vale Fishery record is: 8lb Rainbow, 5lb Brown.
