Rowley Lake is a 7 acre mixed coarse fishery situated in parkland on the outskirts of Burnley. A beautiful place to fish, where you would not believe that you were only 1 mile from East Lancashire’s industrial heartland.MethodsThe lakes bream come out regularly to groundbait feeder using baits like maggot, caster, sweetcorn, worm and bread. The small carp come to pellet and waggler and the large carp come to usual carp tactics. Good sport can be had during the summer as the carp come freely to floaters in the right conditions.The roach come well to pole or waggler tactics using Hemp, Caster or maggot.Tench are not easily tempted but do come out on float gear close in on early summer dawns and dusks. Best baits are corn, worm, caster and bread.Pike provide good sport on deadbaits.
