Crystal Lakes

Clanna Cross Roads, Lydney, GL15 6AE, Glos, United Kingdom

Beanhill Trout Lake Fishery nestles in a wonderfully secluded, peaceful valley in the glorious Gloucestershire countryside. The lake is set amongst a back drop of rolling farmland and mixed woodland of the Forest of Dean, all of which is dissected by the fast, shallow waters of a babbling brook that feeds the fishery.
Beanhill was voted 22nd in the top 100 fisheries to visit by Trout Fisherman magazine.
The lake itself is stream fed and crystal clear, so spotting your target is the easy part. At approximately 2 acres in size and with depths ranging from less than a couple of feet, down to roughly 14 feet at the dam end of the lake, by staying mobile you can search every corner of the lake and have the chance to vary your tactics. At the shallower end of the lake there are two small islands and the water narrows considerably. This provides the opportunity to stalk a fish at close quarters, again giving points of interest and variation in the fishing.
The fishery is stocked with both rainbow and brown trout from Bibury trout farm in the Cotswolds. These fish are of exceptional quality both in their condition and in their strength when hooked.
