Situated on Marlborough Road, Swindon, Coate Water is a fantastic community resource providing a perfect setting for a simple and enjoyable family day out. Nestling in a beautiful country setting, the park provides a peaceful oasis that can be used freely and enjoyed by all members of the community. Coate Water Country Park has a 56-acre reservoir built in the 1820s as a headwater tank for the Wiltshire and Berkshire Canal. In the 1970s a smaller lake was created as a flood storage lagoon, which was made Wiltshire’s first Local Nature Reserve (LNR) in 1976. Carp to 43lb, pike bream, roach, tench, rudd and skimmers.
