Barton Broads

The Rushes, Barton upon Humber, DN18 5, North Lincolnshire, United Kingdom

When you first see this place you would think it was a number of small waters. When you walk around it you will see that it is in fact just a large water that had many different areas and cuttings in which to fish.
Standing at one corner of the lake is the owner's house, which looks impressively over all his hard work. If you have to ask directions to the lake it might be easier to ask for it by the locals name for it, which is "Barry's lake".
The water is about 9 to 10 acres in size and is packed with features and has plenty of places from which to fish from. The water averages between 4 and 6 foot. The venue does get quite busy with people fishing matches. There's plenty of parking on site, with one car park handily placed next to pegs designed for disabled anglers.
There are a whole host of tactics which work here ranging from the pole to the feeder. Predator tactics may be used effectively if targeting the pike that are also resident to over 20 lb.
The majority of fish appear to be roach, perch, bream and also carp. There is also a number of catfish present weighing over 20lb.
As the water is not heavily stocked, you would be advised against throwing a load of loosefeed into your swim. Don't fish too heavy, as although there are double figure carp in the water, you will not catch them all the time. Many of the pegs are suitable for fishing two lines of attack, one in the margins and one midway across.
On the South side of the Humber Bridge head into Barton via the A15, look for the railway station and go down Waterside Road, then take a right turn into Malt Kiln Road, go past the Supermarket and then take a right at the signpost for the fishery.
