The large lake has 23km of shoreline in total, anglers come from far and wide to our location to fish the large body of water. The venue is highly respected in the angling community and it has hosted many professional fly fishing competitions. The reservoir provides both bank and boat fishing opportunities, and the boat floats in the wind, putting the angler's abilities to the test.
Locations like as the Dam Wall, Hafod LomWoods, Nantglyn, and the Brenig Arm may need various approaches, and if there are good fly hatches, it will enhance to the thrill. By the end of 2020, one of our members will have caught and released an 11-pound rainbow fish.
Rainbow and blue trout are supplied in the lake, and fly-fishing is the only way to catch them. The fish are thoroughly acclimatized and have a well-deserved reputation for being tough fighters since they are raised on site, in the chilly Brenig water.
The parking price is waived for fishermen. To minimize disappointment, fishing on the lake is best done by boat.
In the neighboring Alwen Reservoir, you can also go trout fishing. Spinning, natural fly, and single natural worm fishing are permitted at Alwen, except north of the bridge, where fly fishing is prohibited. Pike and perch may also be found in Alwen.
