Madeley Manor is a mixed fishery. Depths to 7-8 feet. Species available: Roach up to 2.5 lbs+, Tench, Barbel, Chub, Carp (many 2-12lbs, with larger specimens to over 25 lbs), Crucian Carp, Bream up to 7lbs+, Rudd and Perch.Take the A525 Newcastle-under-Lyme to Woore Road out of Newcastle, past Keele University and Newcastle Municipal Golf Club. Follow the Keele Village By-pass until you see the turning for Madeley on your left-hand side. (Do not turn left) Carry on the A531 to Betley. Go under the Motorway Bridge, and, within 150 yards the Car Park entrance is on your right hand side. Unlock the barrier and park your car. Please re-lock the barrier when you go to the water, and the entrance gate to Madeley Manor is opposite the Car Park entrance on the other side of the road. Keys for the barrier are available at Meetings, or from Ron Kendrick, 01782-750665 Home 07551 647354 Mobile. As you look at the lake, fishing is available up the left-hand side for most of the length, and on the right hand side for 2 pegs past the Boathouse. Members are not allowed to walk around the top end of the lake to get from one side to the other.
