This is the smallest of Barrow Angling Clubs three fisheries in the locality but at seventeen acres still a sizeable water. The club stocks with rainbow trout averaging a pound and a quarter with a few bigger fish thrown in for good measure. Poaka is a water supply reservoir and subject to greater fluctuations of level than their other waters. Possibly for that reason it doesn't seem to support quite the same degree of insect life. It can often be a water that responds better to lures particularly early and late in the season but it can provide some good surface sport on the right day.
Fishing is for members and their guests only.
