River Derwent - Sutton

Sutton upon Derwent, YO41 4, East Riding of Yorkshire, United Kingdom

Around 1.5 kilometers above the weir. This area is jointly administered by the Leeds & District Amalgamated Society of Anglers and the Leeds & District Amalgamated Society of Anglers. On the right, near to the river, between the road bridge (ascending from Elvington) and the water mill, is a private parking park for members. Day tickets are available at the normal retailers including at the Elvington general store. No fishing is permitted at night.

This area above the bridge is very deep and is well-known for late-season action when fish shoal up before to spawning. The predominant species include roach, dace, chub, gudgeon, perch, and pike, with the addition of the odd barbel and bream.
