A half-mile of the Whitewater just below Riseley Mill provides a short but productive stretch of, mainly, chub fishing. Although only a few barbel have been reported as caught on this section, some fair sized perch and roach have been taken here. This water is immediately downstream of Riseley Mill for approximately 1km. This water is a delightful and pretty small river fishery which is ideal for the pleasure angler targeting the smaller species. Roach, Dace, and Perch are plentiful and the Chub go to 5Ib.This is not a prolific Barbel water but the occasional Barbel have been caught to around 7Ibs. Pike are also present. Can be overgrown and weedy during the summer months.Suitable for most river tactics, although the venue is largely shallow with fast shallow runs into deeper areas.Fish the deeper areas and glides for consistent sport and check out the over hanging trees and rafts for the Chub.
