Olsten Trout Farm in Linconshire began in 1982 as a cage rearing unit in gravel pits, then expanded onto a river system on the edge of the Lincolnshire Woods, with a farm 600 meters from the source of the River Long Eau. The water is of a very high quality usually flowing at a constant 9.5°C, warm enough to give constant all year round growth and cold enough to avoid high temperature related diseases. In March 2000 they took on a second site on the same river, enabling to increase prodution with much bigger growing on ponds. Olsten Farm supplies private customers and large organisations a like, selling all sizes of brown and rainbow trout as well as brook trout for customers with the special ILFA Licence. More recently the fishery has diversified into Coarse fish supplying a variety of species from the ponds.
