Birchmere lake is owned by the Thamesmead Angling Club and is located in south-east London. It is roughly 11 acres in size and contains a large head of carp with the largest amongst them reaching over 30lb. There are a number of other species in the lake such as Perch, Roach, Bream, Tench, and Pike which are going over the 20lb mark. Previously this lake held the British pike record when it was caught at a staggering 41lb.
The lake is a good all-around venue for either pleasure anglers or specimen hunters.
