Masons is a silt-bottomed, sizable estate lake with a maximum depth of one metre and almost 60 swims, some of which have extensive reed beds. While Masons is most known for the calibre of its roach and rudd, it also boasts a healthy population of wild carp that, on average, fight harder than other carp. Along with being serene and attractive, the area is also only broken by the whistles of the Bluebell Railway's locomotives.
