Laughton Ponds, also known as Willowbank Fishery, comprise of 3 ponds but the Moat pond is closed.
The Barometer Pond
On this pond there are 30 pegs available most of the pegs are easily accessable and peg-side parking is ok when the weather permits! This pond has 2 feature rush beds one at either end. As the name suggests the pond has a Bowl end and a long narrow straight.
Fishing the Bowl you will find skimmer bream, roach, perch, rudd, crusian carp commons, ghost and mirror. During the summer months here is a favourite to carp taking floating baits: bread and biscuit.
Fishing the Straight is more complicated! By the rushes you will find chubb, tench, barbel, all carp plus koi. Further down the straight around pegs 21 - 25 most of the best weights of carp have been recorded.
Depths of water vary but at the deepest the Bowl is around 6ft
The Foot Pond
This pond is to the left of the Barometer and can be driven to also. There are only 10 pegs here plenty of trees on the banks to offer good cover for fish. The banks are very steep so take care providing a good wind-break and giving a secluded feeling to pond.
Fish in the Foot Pond are tench, barbel, perch to 2lb 8oz, rudd to 2lb skimmers, roach, carp mirror commons and leathers.
Day Tickets are available on the bank-side.
