Blea Water

Burgh Hall Road, Chorley, PR7 3, Lancs, United Kingdom

Birkacre Small Lodge is located near Chorley in Lancashire and is situated behind the visitors centre at Yarrow Valley Park and has 15 pegs. There are toilets in the visitor centre and disabled parking for around four cars near the Lodge and a ramp leading up to the water. A few years ago with the help of the E.A. the lake was netted and drained to remove some of the silt. Once the work had been completed and the Lodge re-filled the fish were returned. Then the Lodge netted skimmers from a commercial water and stocked around 3000 into the Lodge. This water can fish well through the winter for Roach and Skimmers especially with bread punch. Keep nets are allowed on this water from June 16th until March 14th no carp to be kept in nets. There is a good head of Roach, Skimmers, Tench, Crucian Carp, Perch with a few Common Carp.
