Just upstream of Newark, around 3/4 mile of good river fishing. The length below the marina entrance is perfect for stick floaters, while the downstream end is broader and slower flowing, making it ideal for wagglers and feeders. There are Roach, Bream, Chub, Barbel, and Perch present, with some Carp sometimes taken at the bottom. This water is now restricted to Members Only. There are no day tickets available. There will be no night fishing. Seasonally Closed: 15th March to 15th June inclusive.
Cars are not permitted to be driven upstream from the parking park.
Directions to the Location:
Take the A6097 for 3 1/4 miles across Gunthorpe Bridge to the new A46 elevated roundabout and go left. Continue on the A46 (New Dual Carriageway) in the direction of Newark until you reach the Farndon Roundabout. at the roundabout, go left into Fosse Road (Old A46). Following 3/4 mile Continue straight onto Main Street for 660 yards until you reach the public parking park on the left. Walking 350 yards downstream and across the marina bridge provides access to the water. To reach the stretch's downstream end, go 400 yards down Fosse Road and turn right into Long Lane. Continue down Long Lane for 1 mile (road becomes a track). Car parking is provided at the bottom of the track in the tiny car park. Cars must not be driven upstream from the parking lot.
